The History of Paladin

Anyone who is interested in tools is probably familiar with the brand of Paladin. Specifically, they specialize in tools designed for wire and cable preparation, testing, and termination. The parent company has been around for over thirty years, but they had a major expansion in 2001. In that year, Paladin tools expanded considerably into the do-it-yourself market.

In 2005, they underwent yet another expansion with a series of multi-tools. These tools were designed with electricians in mind, whether those electricians were private users or professionals. The last major change to the company came in late 2007. In December of that year, Greenlee Textron Inc. acquired Paladin. Greenlee also specializes in professional tools, thus expanding that segment of the Paladin market.

Essential Equipment for the Outdoorsman

When it comes to outdoor living, the basics (shelter, water, food) are simple to cover, but knowing what else to bring can be a little more difficult.  The seasoned outdoorsman knows that there are a few tools that are invaluable outdoors.  For example, a hatchet is a useful tool for chopping wood (of course), stripping wood, and digging.  Multipurpose tool have hundreds of uses that are difficult to categorize.  You might need to thread a fishing line, make a splint, or pull a stubborn tent pole apart; a multi purpose tool can assist with all of this.  It’s also a good idea to have a flashlight and a lantern, as light can be scarce outdoors.  The flashlight is good for walking through the dark, and a lantern is great for setting up camp near dusk.

Having this essential outdoor equipment in addition to the basics will make the outdoors an enjoyable experience.  Some of the most seasoned outdoorsmen might just take the essential outdoor equipment and find shelter, food, and water with it alone!
